What's the mission of your organization?

The Yorba Linda Cultural Arts Center is a facility of the Yorba Linda Parks and Recreation Department. We strive to be a community gathering space offering opportunities for cultural experiences for individuals from all walks of life. We also partner with Yorba Linda Spotlight Theater to offer two community theater shows a year through our Yorba Linda Spotlight Players program.

Is there a story behind your organization's name?

The Virginia De Land Theater at the Yorba Linda Cultural Arts Center is named for Yorba Linda resident Virginia De Land who was an accomplished singer, pianist, and organist who founded the Yorba Linda Civic Light Opera in 1985. Even though Virginia and the YLCLO have both passed on, Virginia's adventurous and creative spirit has left Yorba Linda a better and more gracious community to live.

What kind of productions could we expect from your organization?

A variety of shows for everyone, including musicals, plays, comedy shows, and concerts.

What's your organization's origin story?

In 2016, City Council designated a location for the much-anticipated new Yorba Linda Public Library. The 4.5-acre site was determined large enough to fit a 50,000-sq ft Library and an accompanying14,500-sq ft Cultural Arts Center. The addition of a Cultural Arts Center, with Black Box Theater, provided much needed space to expand programming and provide a venue for theater and art organizations to host largescale events, as well as small community theater productions and showcases. 

Outside of your main productions, do you offer other programs for the community?

The Cultural Arts Center also features an Arts Studio, Dance Studio, and Music Room, where we host a variety of classes, programs, and events for the community. The facility is also home to an art gallery which showcases the art of local artists.
